Amal Al Khaja

Amal Al Khaja graduated in 2013 from Zayed University with a BA in Fine Arts. She draws inspiration from her personal experiences and people-watching and continues to build her practice around her focal interest in installation art. Amal has participated in many local exhibitions including the SIKKA Art Fair and the UAE Fine Art Society Annual Exhibition. Her work was also exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2011. In 2012, Amal was awarded the second place in the Fine Arts category in the Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award. Currently, Amal is developing and refining her practice as a fellow in the prestigious Salama Bint Hamdan Emerging Artist Fellowship in Abu Dhabi. After finishing the programme, she hopes to orient her practice towards art therapy and education
